Comparison
The business alternative to WeTransfer
WeTransfer was built to send something quickly, not to account for client data. If you share business documents, you need more grip: where is the data, who can reach it, and what happens after sending? Here is how codocs and WeTransfer compare.
codocs and WeTransfer side by side
| Feature | codocs | WeTransfer (free) |

When is WeTransfer simply fine?
For a photo album to family or a presentation without sensitive content, WeTransfer is an excellent service. The comparison above is about something else: documents you carry business responsibility for, such as contracts, annual figures and client personal data. Different requirements apply there.
Who is codocs built for?
Accountants and financial advisors
Share annual figures, payslips and ID copies with a password and an expiry date. The audit log shows who downloaded what, exactly what you need during an audit.
HR and office managers
Personnel files and contracts stay within the EU. Revoke a sent link the moment a process ends, and recipients never need an account.
Agencies and freelancers
Deliver files to clients with your own message attached. Large files up to 2 GB per upload, and your library keeps everything in one place.
Frequently asked questions
Can I try codocs for free?
Yes. The free account gives you 1 GB of storage and uploads up to 100 MB, no credit card required. Upgrade whenever you need more room.
Do recipients need an account?
No. A recipient clicks the link, enters the password if you set one, and downloads. That is all.
Where exactly are my files stored?
Encrypted on servers in the EU (Amsterdam region). Your data never leaves Europe, and for business customers we put that in writing in the data processing agreement.
